During this time of record inflation and increased demand for our medically-tailored meals, safety checks, social connection, and connection to community resources, you can help end hunger and isolation among elderly and disabled neighbors in our community by donating today.
A donation of $7 provides two meals and a safety check, and $35 provides ten meals and safety checks for a week for a homebound older, disabled neighbor.
Just $1,778 feeds a homebound neighbor in Chesapeake for an entire year – a fraction of the cost of assisted living.

About Us
Meals on Wheels of Chesapeake is a 501(c)(3) community service nonprofit organization founded in 1977 and located at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, which generously donates our office space. We are a United Way of South Hampton Roads agency since 2020, a member organization of Meals on Wheels America since 2020, and a contractual partner with Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, our Area Agency on Aging, since 2021.
We promote well-being for homebound neighbors through the use of evidence-based practices as outlined in Meals on Wheels America’s “More Than a Meal” body of research, including the delivery of nutritious meals and safety checks by vetted volunteers; social connection; and connection to community resources. Our goal is to help participants age in place nutritiously, affordably, and with dignity and independence in their homes and communities.
We are a caring community of over 150 participants and rising; over 300 volunteers and rising; donors; community partners; and staff, two full-time and two part-time.
